How is Manufactured Topsoil topsoil made?
Manufactured Topsoil is produced through an engineered blending of organic residuals and a mineral base material which results in a nutrient-balanced vegetative growing medium that is superior to native loam in its ability to retain moisture and resist erosion.
The soil-building characteristics of the organic residuals in Manufactured Topsoil provide for topsoil that will sustain a healthy grass ecosystem with minimum inputs of maintenance or fertilizers. RMI’s Manufactured Topsoil typically consists of Paper Fiber, Biosolids and common borrow sand.
Why use Manufactured Topsoil?
There are a number of appropriate uses for Manufactured Topsoil due to the slow-release nutrients, organic content and pH which make it an excellent option for any project involving native loam. Manufactured Topsoil may be placed at varying depths depending upon site conditions and the degree to which loam is being replaced or augmented, but is not suitable for use as fill.
