Derived from pulp and paper manufacturing, paper fiber is an excellent recycled product with many applications. Paper fiber consists primarily of the wood fibers that are too short to bond in the paper-making process. Paper fiber holds water, provides abundant organic matter, and helps build deeper organic soils when used in agriculture and land reclamation programs. Paper fiber may also contain lime and clay, which contribute to the bulking qualities and high water retention capacity.
Paper Fiber products can be used a soil amendment to revitalize and enrich topsoil, preserving and enhancing one of our most critical resources. Types of Paper Fiber may also be used for animals bedding, the fibers and clay absorb moisture and provide padding. When applied in the cap on closed landfills the high clay content ensures an impermeable seal.
Topsoil manufactured from Paper Fiber is superior to conventional loam for projects on steep slopes or subject to extreme wet or dry weather conditions. Benefits include reduced soil erosion, reduced need for irrigation, increased nutrient-holding capacity, and reduced soil compaction.
Paper Fiber is an excellent choice for use in topsoil improvement, agribusiness, land reclamation, site development, landfill closures, animal bedding and more.
